PolicyLink is a national research and action institute advancing
economic and social equity by Lifting Up What Works. For nearly
two years, PolicyLink has worked with local, state and national
partners to achieve more equitable development in the Louisiana
rebuilding process. See www.policylink.org for more
information.

The Recovery Corps and PolicyLink will host a News Briefing and
Status Report on Human Recovery of Hurricane Katrina Survivors.
Raymond A. Jetson, chief executive officer of the Louisiana
Family Recovery Corps and a former member of the Louisiana
House of Representatives, will brief reporters and
representatives of other agencies and organizations interested
in the long-term recovery of Hurricane Katrina survivors on the
following topics:
-- The current condition of survivors.
-- Progress made in the past two years to support survivors
living within and outside of Louisiana.
-- Availability of more than $7 million in funding and other
investments to support human recovery

Angela Glover Blackwell, founder and CEO of PolicyLink, will
address findings from PolicyLink's new report, "Building a
Better New Orleans: Hope Needs Help," which highlights the
tremendous strides made by some of the city's most vulnerable
people and showcases the volunteers and agencies that helped to
make that progress possible. The report, which was released
Aug. 24, 2007, also calls on the federal government, the
private sector, and the public to do more to get New Orleans
the help it needs to create a truly vibrant and equitable city.
